Painter and draughtswoman Aileen Jampel was born into a Jewish family in London and studied at Hornsey College of Arts and Crafts (formerly Hornsey School of Art), Sir John Cass School of Art and the Camden Institute. She has exhibited regularly at the Printmakers' Council exhibitions, at the Mall Galleries, and at Ben Uri, and has shown three times in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition (1997, 2001, and 2009). She is a member of the New English Art Club, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Society for Graphic Fine Art, where she has twice won the exhibition prize, in 1993 and 1998. She lives and works in north London.
